Fire
The newest set of colours to come from Julia K Art Studio is the Fire collection. Inspired by a quote about setting your soul on fire, the collection has six colours and three are made with just one single pigment. The hues are my take on the life of a flame, the bright yellow and the powerful orange. The soft bluish smoke into the darkness. The charred blackness, and of course the smoulder that is still under the surface.
Ciran- A black made from charred vines and with a neutral undertone makes it easy to mix. Use on hot press paper to get a charred look. PBk8
Elda- Swedish for fire - fitting for this rich, true orange colour. Semi transparent and made from one pigment, it’s a perfect mixing colour. PR34
Freja- Like the Norse goddess this colour is strong and warm. It has a deep masston without losing pigmentation when watered down. Pv37 PR144
Helios- The brightest, most yellow of my yellows is named after the Greek titan of the sun chariot. Semi transparent with a warm masston without any granulation. PY154
Katla- When the fire is gone there is still a smoulder left. Be free with this colour and water and you too will see the glowing embers. Neon & PBk11
Reykur- Icelandic for smoke, this soft bluish colour has the slightest pink granulation. Semi opaque and with medium flow, it feels like painting with smoke. PW6 PR233 indigo
